The bill of which a copy was enclosed in the Governor's des-

patch of the 2nd June, 1916, was withdrawn and its provisions have

been incorporated in this Ordinance.

Section 1 is formal.

Section 2 contains definitions of terms. "Corporation under

enemy control", "enemy", "ehemy subject", "immovable property" and

"property under prohibited control" are defined for the purposes of

sections 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 22 which are referred to below.

The definition of "a corporation under enemy control", is based

on the Nigerian draft Ordinance. The term "property under pro-

hibited control" was introduced in order to simplify the enacting

sections.

meaning which it had under the previous Ordinances, and is not
